Hi!  I’m Carey Schumacher.

I started myFUNcamera.com to bring fun resources to everyone who enjoys taking pictures — professional photographers, students, women, men, kids, anyone!

I am the owner of San Diego Barefoot Memories.  I’m also a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, and photo enthusiast.  I’m sure there are more labels I could throw on myself, but that’ll do for now.

Feel free to check out the Barefoot Memories BLOG for all of the Barefoot Goings-On.  Keep checking back here, too, for all sorts of info on how to take better pictures, cameras, lenses, accessories, lessons, labs, and lots more!  I’ll be filling up this site with all sorts of things for you!

Have FUN!

~Carey

Carey, thanks so much for all of the information you provide on your My Fun Camera site. I absolutely love it! Any chance of getting some tips for shooting action?

One of these days, I’m going to sign up for your mentoring session. Until then, I’ll keep visiting this page.

I just wanted to thank you for all of your outstanding advice you post to your site. I learn something new every time I visit your site or read your blogs. Most recently you posted a great headshot picture from the park. Are you going to give your secrets away (camera settings, lens, sparkle in the eye) for how you got that shot? Thank you again for all of your insight!!

  4. Hi Carey, I heard about you while listening to an interview done with Mera Koh. I have been loving photography for about 6 years and yes – shooting in the “green”. I have been desperately trying to teach myself to shoot in manual and just beginning to understand it a little. Question – can you get Mera to come do one of her ladies workshops in your area or mine (Northern CA). Or, do you teach workshops? I am in desperate need of help and the sooner the better. My husband just went back to work after a 8 month CA “Economic Vacation” … so I’m doing all I can to get my business up and running. Trying to help us get out of the “crash” and be better prepared for the future. I will take any advice and help I can find.

    Thanks & Blessings,
    Lynda Kennedy
